AUPA PLANCHA, THE AUTHENTIC BASQUE GRILL

INGREDIENTS

Prosciutto - 9 slices approximately 6oz (thinly sliced)
Asparagus Spears - 18 small to medium size*
1 TBSP of Olive Oil

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus – Aupa Plancha

How to make Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus:

  1. Trim hard end from each asparagus spear.
  2. Cut each slice of prosciutto lengthwise so that you now have 18 slices of prosciutto.
  3. Preheat your Aupa Plancha on medium heat.
  4. Wrap one slice of prosciutto around each spear.  Start at the bottom and spiral up to the tip of the asparagus.
  5. Pour olive oil onto the hot plancha.
  6. Place each wrapped spear on the plancha to cook for approximately 5-7 minutes, turning to gain desired crispness on all sides.
  7. Plate and serve while hot – yields 3 per person.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus on the Plancha

*To make as a side dish, do not cut the prosciutto into half slices.  You can then wrap one slice of prosciutto around a bundle of 3-4 small/medium spears or 1-2 large spears.
